Year 1 Castle Challenge Success!

Year 4 kicked off DT Week with a tasty biscuit investigation today. After sampling, they moved into a critical analysis, evaluating and describing the packaging, texture, and look of each biscuit, while also considering its target audience.

DT Week: Investigating Strength - We worked out how to create the strongest structures and bridges. Lots of problem solving going on here!

DT Week: Investigating Joins - In groups we have created different joins such as flanges, slots, braces and tabs to see which ones will work for our shelters. We loved this session.

DT Week: Investigating Water Resistance. We used pipettes and syringes to investigate which materials we are going to select for our shelters. Great scientific investigations and careful work year 6!

Huge congratulations to our VIPs this week. Our Year 4 VIPs enjoyed sweets in Mrs Hargreaves office and the rest of the VIPs met at 3pm for sweets and biscuits. Huge congratulations to you all! What a way to end the week.

What a special day in Year 1!

Today we completed our windmills!
