We loved our first visit to Mill Hill Library today. They will all bring home a registration form tomorrow. Please fill it in and then we can get them all their own Library card.
We had a visit from 2 Dental Practitioners today. We spoke about keeping our teeth clean and healthy and had our first tooth brushing session. We will be brushing our teeth daily now.
Today we have had a visit from a famous poet, Paul Cookson. We enjoyed a whole school assembly, and then we had our session in Year, where he helped us to write a poem all about the Stone Age. We had so much fun!
We had lots of fun on our autumn walk!
Today the children had a Move and Learn session from Blackburn Rovers. First they learnt about what physical activity is before having a PE lesson.
Year 4 were fantastic today at Blackburn Cathedral. We had to think about some really big questions about the moon and how God made the world. If you can get down to the Cathedral to catch this amazing art installation you won’t regret it.
Adrianna joined us at the library today.
Year 4 have arrived safely at Ribchester Museum and are listening to the historian Patrick. We’re picking up lots of knowledge that we will make sticky over the next few weeks.
GULP session 2
Hi all. As you know we had a trip to the Roman Museum yesterday and we had a wonderful time. We got to try on Roman armour and the children loved it.
We have had a lovely morning today planting trees in Billington. We worked together in our pairs to dig up the ground and plant small trees. So far there are nearly 2,000 planted but they are aiming for 5,000.

Today we had a visit from two local PCSOs that came to talk to us about anti social behaviour. We discussed examples of ASB and how it effects the wider community.
This afternoon we have been developing our gymnastic skills in PE with Olivia from BRFC.
On Wednesday Year 2 had a visit from the fire service.
Some of our Year 1 and 2 pupils are taking part in a KS1 Multi-Skills Festival at St Bede's high school this morning.
To finish online safety week we had a visit from our local PCSO’s who taught us about online safety and how the police can help keep us safe.
Reception loved their prayer experience session.
Today we had a prayer experience day were we thought about the different ways we can pray and reflect.

Year 5 are having a blast exploring the wonders of the universe at the planetarium!
We squeezed in a visit to the aquarium and the ancient Egyptian exhibition before heading back to school.
Wow! What an amazing morning. Year 6 were lucky to have a visit from Sophie from Boohoo and learn all about the business and opportunities they have on offer. we learned about the company and where it all began. We also talked about the famous people who work with the company. Did you know they have warehouse that is bigger than 13 football pitches and a robot that organises the clothes using QR codes? Well done year 6 for great oracy skills that we were complimented on!

This afternoon a firefighter joined us from Lancashire Fire Service to teach us all about Fire Safety. Ask your child what they have discussed today!

Today in Science we learnt how to keep our teeth clean and healthy, with Sarah and Joanna from Darwenside Dental Practice.
A visit from Kaitlyn our veterinary nurse.
Laura Hartley from Merchandise 4 Impact has visited the children today to discuss potential future careers.
Charlotte from Greenarc visited Year 1 this morning. She told us all about her company, construction and electrical careers. Charlotte certainly inspired our children. We are already looking forward to your next visit Charlotte!
Some of reception had a visit from the dentist yesterday. We are doing a good job at looking after our teeth.
This morning, we had a visit from Deaf Village. They taught us how to use sign language and answered any questions the children had. It was very informative. Ask your child/ren to show you what they have learnt.

Today, we had a visit from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service informing us on all safety precautions we need to follow.
We have arrived at Canalside Activity Centre and are starting with an Orienteering competition to capture the Aliens.
We are now having lots of fun doing Soft Archery and Giant Catapults.
Earlier today, we had an exciting English experience lesson where we visited Mill Hill Library. We explored the world of new and old books and spoke about how books can take us to places we have never been before.
On the way back from the library, Year 3 spotted Mill Hill Park covered in litter. We came back in the afternoon with gloves, litter pickers, and bin bags. The children worked hard and managed to fill up 5 bags with rubbish! The park looks so much better.
A massive well done to our Mini Cops for their efforts over the past nine months. A fabulous presentation you should all be so proud of yourselves.
Today we were lucky to receive a session from Kooth. A company that is here to help support children with their mental health and transition to year 7. All children made an account which they have been given for free.
We have enjoyed glow in the dark dodgeball this afternoon.

Year 1 had a fantastic day at Blackpool Zoo! The children were all well behaved and had a lovely time exploring and learning about the animals.
Our afternoon workshop was ‘Beautiful Bugs’ which links to our ‘Living Things’ topic in Science. We saw many creepy crawlies!
We have really enjoyed the Planetarium at Liverpool World Museum this morning.
A brilliant visit from Boohoo to talk to us about employability and the jobs in the future.
We managed to pop into the Ancient Egypt exhibition to recap our knowledge from year 3.
We loved the climbing wall!
Year 4 had a fantastic time in their VR session on animals. Ask them what animals they have seen!
We loved the circus!!
We had the best day ever!! Year 2 had exceptional behaviour. We went to the circus, the beach, went on the pier and had an ice cream.
This afternoon was our VR workshop about the Maya civilisation. It was amazing! Ask us about it :)
