At St. Aidan's, worship plays a vital role in bringing our vision to life. Every day, we engage in acts of worship that enable children to explore the Christian faith and see how it is practiced around the world and in the Bible. We encourage children to develop their own beliefs and respect their right to do so. Our children are exposed to a diverse range of stories, media, news, and role models from various cultures, countries, time periods, and ages. We celebrate God and His love for us through a wide array of activities that are inclusive to all. Children also get to enjoy practical and outdoor connections to worship. Our close ties with the church community allow children to be a part of something meaningful that they might otherwise miss out on in their lives. Through worship, we reinforce the belief that God loves each and every one of us, just as we are. This helps build self-esteem, confidence, and empowers children to be the best version of themselves.

We have adopted the Windows Mirrors Doors approach which we encourage as part of our collective worship.

Windows

* Opportunities for children to be aware of the world in new ways, looking out into the world.

* To wonder about life's 'WOWS. Things that are amazing.

* To think about life's 'OWS' that take us by surprise!

* Learning about life in all its fullness.

Mirrors

* Opportunities to reflect on their experiences.

* Looking inside yourself.

* Consider life's big questions and reach for some possible answers.

* Learning from life by exploring our own insights and those of others.

Doors

* Opportunities for children to respond.

* Moving onto a new path or situation.

* To do something creative to develop and apply our ideas.

* Learning to live out our beliefs and values.

Picture News

Each week, Picture News provides a platform for our pupils to explore current events in Class Worship. By focusing on British Values and Protected Characteristics, children gain a deeper understanding of the world around them. Teachers tailor the topics to suit their class's specific needs, drawing from a range of news articles available throughout the term.

What a fantastic morning we have had, bringing Church into school for our Harvest worship.
