Today in Science, Year 3 were investigating 'Do people with the longest legs jump the furthest?' Ask your child what they discovered as you may be surprised!

This week in Science, we continued our plant studies by exploring trees. We went on a local walk to examine different parts of trees, measured their trunks, and even made some bark rubbings. It was a great time, and we learned that every tree is unique!

A wetter week at Forest School didn't stop the fun! We've been busy learning how to identify some of our local native trees. They did a great job noticing different leaf shapes and bark textures.

Our first Forest School session was a huge success! We loved exploring our surroundings and discovering all sorts of fascinating insects.

Yesterday, we had a wonderful visit from the Ribble Rivers Trust. The children were fascinated learning about river creatures, the impact of river bank erosion, and the importance of planting native wildflowers. A highlight was making seed bombs.

Today in Geography, we successfully reviewed the 7 continents, locating them on a map. We then learned about the 5 oceans, singing a song and identifying their locations.

Yesterday in Science, we explored the roots of a plant. We took apart a plant carefully and had a closer look using a magnifying glass! It was amazing what we could see. Ask your children at home what is the job of the root in a plant?
