It’s DT Week and we’re busy creating pop-up cards! After investigating mechanisms and surveying other year groups for design inspiration, we are spending today practising our technical skills. Stay tuned for more photos as we head into our big "make" day.

Rev Alice’s Worship - We have had our final worship with Rev Alice this morning discussing the different types of foods we eat and what these represent at this time of year.

Well done to our talented performers at the Blackburn with Darwen Schools' Poetry event! After a fantastic whole-school celebration worship, it was wonderful to see our children represent the school with such passion and enthusiasm.

Art: Pressure & Texture > Inspired by Gillian McFadden’s adaptive style, we used various tools to create tactile artwork. Our pieces explore the relationship between pressure and touch, making art accessible to both the sighted and the blind.

Speak Out Step. Here’s some pictures of the children practising their oracy skills over the week. From History to English, we’ve been sharing our work with our classmates.

Children’s University passports Wonderful to see Mrs Burton in school last week stamping our university passports for the clubs and extra activities we have been taking part in.

Our DT project this term is Salads. Today we have investigated salads, researched salads from around the world and went out to Year 1 and Year 3 to ask them their favourite salad ingredients

Fantastic patterns in pen party!

Reception have been fantastic busy bees this week!!

In PSHE, we have been learning about keeping money safe. Reception understood the different representations of money and what we use to keep money safe!

This term we have been learning about people who help us. We had a special visitor in today, Kirsty the Police Officer! Reception tried on some Police uniforms and even found Bob who stole my ring, in the back of the van!

In RE we have been learning about Good Friday. Reception learnt that Judas betrayed Jesus and Jesus died to forgive our sins. We tried hot cross buns to remember Jesus’ sacrifice!
