This morning we planned what ingredients we wanted to include in our salad. This afternoon we made our salads, the children were excellent at cutting, grating and peeling the ingredients. Super work Year 2!

Y1 Design and make day

Planning their tour around Sicily and presenting their ideas.

Our next skill was juicing, this was really fun! We even got to taste the juice, it was very sour!

We are now focusing on the skills part of our DT week. This afternoon, we have been learning the skill of cutting and how to do it safely. This will make sure that when we cut our fruit for our smoothies, we are super safe and our fruit is cut perfectly.

The children have just tasted lots of different fruit and vegetables so they can choose their favourite ones to put in their smoothie.

In the afternoon, we had the opportunity to try various smoothies and complete a chart indicating if they tasted sweet or sour, as well as whether we enjoyed them.

After that, we had a discussion about the origin of various fruits and vegetables and the fascinating process of their growth.

Yesterday marked the beginning of our DT. week dedicated to creating delicious smoothies. To kick things off, we engaged in a lively discussion about various fruits and vegetables and then sorted them. This is the start of our investigating

We then focused on the skills part of our DT week. This afternoon, we have been learning the skill of cutting and how to do it safely. This will make sure that when we cut the ingredients of our salads carefully.

DT week - Our topic this term in DT is salads. Tasting salads Today we explored the taste of Caesar, Greek and Waldorf salads. The children then evaluated the salads describing the appearance, smell, flavour, texture and then rated them.
