Experience day in English, trying Italian food. To start, mozzarella and tomato salad.
Today in English we have started our next unit on instructions we have been matching features of the text to the shape.
Conducting an experiment in science, changing the state of chocolate with different methods.
Today in Maths, we have been looking at length and height. We have been finding objects around the classroom and comparing them, using the words taller, shorter, longer, and smaller. We even stood next to our friends to compare heights!
Turning shapes through angles in maths today. Ask us about them when we get home.
Division with exchange and a remainder.
This morning in Art we responded to Kurt Schwitters work, he used non-art materials to create collages. We used raffle tickets to create a pattern, some of us even used the overlapping technique.
What a busy afternoon we have had creating our own electronic scarecrows in science; using the knowledge we have gained this half term.
Today we finished reading our class novel, Coraline. This book kept us in suspense throughout.
Division with remainder
Today in Art we responded to Henri Matisse ‘The Snail’ - we used the primary and secondary colours to arrange different materials in different patterns. What a great week we have had so far!
We are finishing this week with our Art unit of collages. Today in Art we responded to the artist Bridget Riley, her work inspired us to create Op Art. What talented artists you are Year 2!
