World Book Day with year 3!!

World Book Day 2024

Trust activity in RE

Global Trade and Food - Today we looked at what is meant by an ‘import’ and an ‘export’. Using a regular shopping list we traced where the products came from and the journey they make to our supermarkets. Well done year 6!

Our topic in Geography this term is Our Local Area - Mill Hill. This week we looked at digimaps we found the keys on the map and had a go at guessing what they could be.

This morning we have been developing our skills in 3D CAD modelling on Tinkercad on the computers. We have created housing for our micro:bits.

This morning we have designed and made Lego stands for our micro:bits.

Laura Hartley from Merchandise 4 Impact has visited the children today to discuss potential future careers.

This afternoon we have re-enacted the story of Jim and the Beanstalk.

So far in Maths this week we have been making and drawing arrays to make it easier to calculate multiplications. This helps us understand that multiplication is commutative.

Our RE topic this term is Easter. We are looking at how symbols help us understand the Easter story. Yesterday we played pass the parcel with different parts of the story, we then put them on order and tried some delicious hot cross buns.

We’re still exploring mark-making in Art using a variety of tools. Our focus has been on creating various shapes and playing with light and dark. The results are truly stunning!
