Flexible partitioning in maths.

This afternoon in maths we have been using equipment to partition numbers in different ways.

Our PSHE topic this term is ‘Me and My Relationships’, in our lesson we recognised the different ways of expressing feelings and the helpful ways of responding to others feelings. Great circle time discussions Year 2!

Yesterday we had a visit from Blackburn Museum to show us a range of Victorian toys. We all had a go at playing with them and discussed how they are different to the toys we have today. We then made our own cup and balls.

A week in our continuous provision. During the day the children have the opportunity to learn through play. Carefully prepared activities allow children to learn the skills they need to develop.

Brush, brush, brush your teeth! Reception are now experts in dry brushing. We have talked about the importance of brushing your teeth and not eating too many sugary foods.

Can you guess what sound we have been learning today? We have learnt that the grapheme S makes the ssssssss sound.

Even though the weather made it a little uncomfortable for us, the children have had a great first week. We have made friends, started writing our names, learnt to share, problem solve and had a great time singing to our favourite songs.

As you can see from the photos the children have been busy exploring all our different areas, making new friends and most of all having lots of fun.

In Art, we are learning to paint on textures.
